Clarification for Terms & Conditions in Tizen Incentives Program

Hello, 

Does anybody know the meaning of below clause in Tizen Incentives terms and conditions? 

"Any application that is pre-loaded on the Tizen mobile devices, it will be excluded from the list of candidates eligible for prizes."

Does it mean the apps that compete with pre-loaded apps are not eligible to receive awards in Tizen Incentives?

I'm developing a Home Launcher app. Would it be disqualified because it is competing with native/pre-loaded Home-Launcher app?

I saw that Nougat Launcher was a winner in Feb but not sure if developer of that app got the prize under Tizen Incentives.

Hey Viren,

As it mentions the pre-loaded apps  (which means the apps Samsung pre-loads, like Calender or Facebook) are excluded, I think it ONLY meant for Samsung provided pre-loaded apps.

I do not think, it includes the app that is competing with pre-loaded apps as this competition targets 3rd party developers.

If that was the case, my guess the term and conditions would have stated - "Any application that is pre-loaded or competing with/similar of pre-loaded apps on the Tizen mobile devices, it will be excluded from the list of candidates eligible for prizes."

Any other thoughts?

I just wanted to confirm it before I start working on such app because I saw in another thread here, some developer had problems with his app-name. Samsung is trying its level best to give as few rewards as possible, so better to ask here than assume. Otherwise all my hardwork will go down in gutter. lol

I think you should set your app name and app feature not related to preload app :)
