No ARM emulator nor available device

Dear All,

I've recently started developing an app for Tizen. My biggest concern about this is that I cannot really test an ARM build. There are no available devices available (obviously), no Development Units available, but at this point most disturbing is that the emulator runs only x86, no arm. So it is not possible to have a slightest clue about whether the app even runs or not on an actual device.
And obviously here is the Tizen App Challenge, with a very close deadline. I wonder, how are we (app developers) expected to deliver a well-polished app under these circumstances?

Thanks for your thoughts and suggestions, I'll really appreciate them!

Zsolt

Hi. I understand that there is no way to get Tizen mobile device at this moment. does your application uses ARM specific feature? like Neon or something? otherwise you can try Emulator anyway.. you can verify most of issues that may generated in the device as well. and in the last stage.. how about register your ARM app package to 'bugs.tizen.org' and asking help to test on the device? Regards

No, no NEON or anything, it's just I have a bad feeling releasing something which has not been tested under real world circumstances. Plus, my experience with both iOS and Android suggest that almost anything can happen on the real thing, regardless of it's working fine in the emulator/simulator. (not 100% relevant here, but I even remember the iOS docs explicitly stating that the simulator is merely a convenience tool for development, and should not be used for testing) Any hint that we will get an x86 emulator in the following 1-2 months period? Good idea about bugs.tizen.org, I haven't thought about that! Did you have (or seen anyone have) success with that approach? I mean, that would not be technically a bug report... :-) If it's fine for them then it's good for me! Thank You!

Maybe Orange France is next ""chance"" for test device... Only stupid idea, because I saw some leaked info about Firmware from Orange... France is 1 of the 5 countries... Anyway... more leaked details: http://wap.samsungmobile.com/uaprof/GT-I8805.xml http://wap.samsungmobile.com/uaprof/SM-Z9005.xml Strange, SM-Z9005.xml seems removed now... anyway.
